Adopting an
animal can be a
very wonderful
experience if it
thought out in
length and in
great detail,
unfortunately
many do not
think the
process out long
term and are
disappointed in
the adoption
experience
because the dog
they adopted has
done something
that is not
favorable to the
adopter but is a
normal trait of
the breed they
chose to adopt
or the adopter
was not prepared
to completely
commit to the
upbringing of
the dog adopted.
* failing to
thoroughly
research a
breeds
characteristics
& traits is one
of the most
damaging things
a person looking
to adopt an
animal can do.
Choosing to add
a pit bull dog
to your family
takes a long
thoughtful
process.
We can not
stress enough
how important
this is.
If you can not
commit yourself
to a lifetime
commitment of at
least 12-15
years of the
dogs’ life,
several hours a
week in
training,
exercising &
bonding, we ask
that you please
exit the site at
this point.
You should be
well prepared
for the arrival
of your animal
before he/she
enters your
home, for
example:
If you are
looking to
adopt, it is
important that
the entire
family is
present during
the selection &
discussion of
adoption, Family
commitment is an
important part
of the adoption
process.
Often times
there are
several things
over looked or
not considered
when adopting.
Below are just a
few to consider
BEFORE
adoption
Preparing for
adoption
-
Are there
breed
restrictions
in your
area? (You
must also
consider
restrictions
for areas
that you may
be visiting
in the
future.
-
Research the
breed
thoroughly,
-
Prepare a
list of
questions to
ask animals
current
caretaker
-
Do you know
someone who
already has
a bully? Ask
to spend the
day with
them to
observe.
-
Safety proof
your home
for loose
cords &
poisonous
items
harmful to
the dog,
-
Have you
purchased a
crate?
-
Located a
Veterinarian?
(YOU MUST BE
PREPARED TO
COVER THE
EXPENSES OF
but
certainly
not limited
to:
vaccines,
heartworm
testing and
preventative,
and annual
check ups.
-
Locate a
trainer (You
will need to
invest the
considerable
time, money
and patience
it takes to
train your
dog to be a
good
companion.
(You can not
expect a dog
to just
magically
become
perfect &
well behaved
on his own.)
-
Consider
purchasing
baby gates
to section
off areas in
the home
until the
dog gets
familiar
with
surroundings
(cost of
baby gates
approx
$15.00 -
$20.00 each)
Most of our
rescued dogs
were pulled out
of Animal
Shelters off of
what is called
“Death row”,
this does not
mean they are
bad dogs that
committed a
horrible
offense, Death
row is where a
lot of Pit
Bulldogs end up
the moment they
walk into most
Animal shelter
doors, due to No
Pit Bull
adoption
policies. It
doesn’t matter
how friendly or
adoptable they
are, they never
see the adoption
floor; the most
they can hope
for is ending up
in an animal
shelter that is
willing to work
with experienced
& knowledgeable
animal rescue
groups.
We ask that
anyone
considering to
adopt a pit bull
dog to research
the breed
thoroughly, Our
dogs have
suffered enough
and were lucky
to have not had
their lives
ended at the end
of a needle or
in the streets
or in a ring,
They deserve to
be adopted by
serious
committed
individuals who
know the
importance of
RESPONSIBLE
OWNERSHIP.
If you can not
commit to the
above mentioned,
Please do not
waste our time
or yours by
applying for one
of our rescued
dogs.
